Mid morning on Brighton beach in mid July, a glorious and very hot afternoon is indicated. Meanwhile the almost derelict West Pier awaits occupation as well as the deckchairs. For the time being, however, only the deckchairs are likely to fulfil their intended function, while the still beautiful West Pier is fated only to further depredation.
