Well, it does here doesn't it? You can just make out two sailboards over there by the West Pier, but everything in this painting is a eulogy to that wildest of the primary colours. From the stripy deckchairs on the Palace Pier to the outrageous sky, red glows with pride, determination and confidence, in shades from shocking pink to unmitigated scarlet.
