As Philip knows only too well, there ain't no cure for the summertime blues! Clearly indicating his obsession with the shadows from the Palace Pier's railings projected onto the striped translucency of the deckchairs. The changing dominance between the silhouettes and shadows across the sunlight on the sea create a complex pattern, both convincingly real and hypnotically abstract at the same time.
